Due to the active easterly wave and a trough extending from South Andhra Coast to Sri Lanka, the state of Andhra Pradesh has received good rains during the last 48 hours. While the intensity of rains was more over southern districts of the state, light rains occurred over North-coastal districts and Rayalaseema.
The impact of these systems is expected to continue for another 48 hours and till then, scattered rains will continue over many parts of Andhra Pradesh.
Thereafter by December 7, weather would become almost dry. As a result, the temperatures that would have dropped by 3 to 4-degree Celsius till then, would start increasing gradually.
We do not expect any major weather activities for at least next one week over the state. A Low-Pressure Area, however, is expected to move from south-central Bay of Bengal to west-central Bay of Bengal towards Andhra coast around December 13 and 14.
During that time, the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh may receive few spells of light to moderate rain, but we will have to wait and see how the things unfold and whether the Low-Pressure Area will intensify into a Depression or not. It will be sheer premature to forecast as soon.
