For the past two days, isolated good showers have been observed over coastal Andhra Pradesh. A trough is running from East Madhya Pradesh to Rayalaseema across Vidarbha and Telangana, which will further induce fairly widespread rain and thundershowers over Telangana. Thus, we can expect more rain in the region in the next 2-3 days.
In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Friday, Kakinada recorded 51 mm of rain, Visakhaptnam received 11 mm of rain and Jagdalpur observed 41 mm of rain.
Interior parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana may also receive heavy to very heavy rain in the next 48 to 72 hours at a few places.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area is over eastcentral Arabian Sea, which is expected to intensify further and move in the northwest direction with strong winds converging around this system. The same system is expected to pull other weather systems hovering over South India towards the west. This process will result in increased rainfall activity over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The twin states will continue to receive rain for the next 2-3 days causing a marginal drop in the temperatures.
