The inhabitants of Telangana have been witnessing dry weather conditions since last one month. The Northeast Monsoons have minimal effect on the state of Telangana. Whereas, rains during Northeast Monsoon remain confined only to Tamil Nadu, South Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and parts of South Interior Karnataka.
On the other hand, in wake of Cyclone Gaja and a well-marked low-pressure area, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh received few good spells of rain in the month of November.
Now because of the presence of easterly waves, we expect scattered rains to occur over South coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as parts of Rayalaseema in coming 24 hours. Whereas, weather of northern districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh will remain dry. As per the experts, there is a formation of a confluence zone over Telangana, which may give light rain at few places over southern districts of Telangana on December 5 and 6. Districts like Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Nalgonda along with Hyderabad may receive light rains. We can say that prolong dry spell is all set to break now.
Whereas, the weather of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal will remain dry. At present, Rayalaseema is rain deficit by 60%, Coastal Andhra Pradesh by 70% and Telangana by 84%.
Telangana will receive scattered light rains but since they won’t be of high intensity, therefore the rain impact will be very less from agriculture point of view. But they may enhance the soil moisture.
