Rayalaseema has been receiving heavy to very heavy rains for the last two to three days. However, Coastal Andhra Pradesh witnessed light to moderate rain only. The post Monsoon season is going well for the state and until October 9, Andhra Pradesh is rain surplus by 18 percent.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, Kurnool witnessed heavy rains to the tune of 64.4 mm. Meanwhile, in the same span of time, Kalingapatnam recorded 11.9 mm of rain, Kakinada 8.8 mm, Anantapur 7.2 mm, Tirupathi 5 mm, Vishakhapatnam 3.4 mm and Machilipatnam 1.7 mm of rain.
As per Skymet Weather, it is anticipated that good rains will continue over Rayalaseema for the next three to four days. The rainfall activity can be attributed a north-south trough which is extending from Maharashtra to South Interior Karnataka across Rayalaseema.
This weather system will continue to enhance the rainfall activity over Rayalaseema. Places such as Anantapur, Kurnool, and Cuddaph may receive good spell of rain. However, the coastal districts will see scattered light rain with one or two moderate rainy spells during the next 24 hours.

It is expected that after October 14, the rain intensity will reduce both over Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rains will subside but light rains will continue over the state. Thereafter, the weather will not become completely dry and on and off rain will continue. The sky will remain cloudy, with maximum temperatures settling in lower 30’s and minimums around 20°C - 25°C.
