Foggy mornings had become a distant memory for many areas for the past few days. So much so that the North Indian plains have been recording no fog and foggy mornings have remained far away. However, things have taken a turn with fog making a comeback over many parts today morning.

Today, the visibility in Amritsar dropped to nil. For the last few days the city of Golden Temple was observing clear mornings. Similar conditions were observed at Srinagar as well where the visibility had dropped down to nil.

As far as the national capital is concerned, fog has remained at bay from the city. However, the Palam Airport in Delhi has recorded very dense fog with the visibility dropping to a mere 100 metres. Other areas remained fog free.

IN Northeast India, Agartala witnessed shallow fog with the visibility dropping to 600 metres. Due to patchy fog, at least 13 trains were delayed across the country. Not only this, 11 flights were delayed to and from Delhi as well.

At present, northwesterly winds are blowing over many parts of the country which is why foggy mornings are far away from many parts. Due to these northwesterly winds, weather conditions remain dry and humidity is at bay. Thus, the formation of fog doesn’t take place.

While patchy areas will continue to witness foggy weather, most places will continue to remain fog free.
