Amritsar, Lucknow wake up to very dense fog

Foggy mornings have abated several parts of the country with dense fog being absent from several parts of the country. So much so that Delhi and the NCR region has not been witnessing foggy mornings for quite some time now.

However, a few areas in North India including Punjab and Uttar Pradesh did wake up to a very foggy morning. Thick fog had blanketed these regions with the visibility being either nil or very low. Not all the areas witnessed dense fog and most places remained fog free.

For instance, on Friday morning, the city of Golden Temple, Amritsar recorded nil visibility at around 6:30 am. The conditions in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh were almost similar with the visibility being recorded at Lucknow at 50 metres. Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh also witnessed nil visibility.

As far as East India is concerned, dense fog continued to remain absent from these areas. However, parts of Northeast India did witness a foggy morning. Agartala recorded a visibility of 50 metres.

Due to fog in various parts of the country at least 92 trains have been delayed. Meanwhile, Delhi and the NCR region witnessed a clear morning with the entire city witnessing no fog.
