Amritsar, Lucknow, and Patna witness very dense fog

India fogFoggy mornings have now made a comeback over several parts of the country. While dense fog continues to abate the national capital with mornings being clear in most parts of the city, Amritsar has reported very dense fog again.

In fact, the city has witnessed nil visibility for the second consecutive day. Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh also reported very dense fog with the visibility dropping to a mere 50 metres. Conditions were slightly better at Varanasi with the visibility being at 500 metres.

As far as East India is concerned, the capital city of Bihar, Patna reported very dense fog with the visibility dropping to a 100 metres. Meanwhile, Northeast India recorded shallow fog in pockets. For instance, Agartala recorded visibility at 800 metres and Imphal witnessed 600 metres of visibility.

As far as air traffic and train status is concerned, several delays were witnessed today as well. At least 74 trains were delayed across the country. In case of flights, several delays were observed with four flights flying to Delhi being Delhi and one being cancelled.
