Amazing figures of rain in India last week

Be it the desert in Rajasthan or the green belts of the plains, more than abundant amounts of rain have been received from 27th of February to 5th of March across the country. Here are some of these astonishing figures:

East Rajasthan in northwest plains received 850 per cent more rain than the average for the period. East Rajasthan rarely experiences rain during the first week of March as the average is just 1 mm for the period but the region recorded 9.5 mm of rain. West Rajasthan recorded 237 per cent more than the average.

West Uttar Pradesh witnessed a staggering 643 per cent above average rain. The region receives just over 3 mm of rain on an average but 25.3 mm of rain was received from 27th February till 5th of March.

East Uttar Pradesh is not far behind and recorded 676 per cent more rain than the normal. East Uttar Pradesh receives 2.6 mm of rain on an average during the week while last week it recorded 20.2 mm.

In Central India, figures of rain are incredibly high. West Uttar Pradesh recorded 781 per cent more rain as it received 11.5 mm of rain against 1.3 mm on an average. East Madhya Pradesh registered an an increase of 759 per cent. Chhattisgarh recorded 538 per cent more rain during the period.

Rain figures in Central Peninsula last week were most surprising with Marathwada in Maharashtra recording 2116 per cent more rain than the average of 1.1 mm for the week.

North Interior Karnataka registered a whopping 2728 per cent more rain against the normal average of 0.5 mm.

Vidarbha recorded 1164 per cent while Telangana observed 1486 per cent more rain.

Back to back Western Disturbances over Jammu & Kashmir, cyclonic circulations in Central India and confluence of moist and dry winds in Central and Southern Peninsula led to a jump in rainfall figures last week.
