During the winter season, the Western Disturbances are the dominant feature in terms of weather activity over North India. However, as we step into March, the frequency of these systems reduces to quite an extent.

Thus, other weather phenomenon including thunderstorms and dust storms begin over several parts of the country. During the first few days of March, some weather activity was observed in the hills of North India. In the changeover period, the effect of which was seen extending up to the plains where the temperatures have dipped a little and may decrease further.

During the next 36 hours, barring the Northeastern region of India, the entire country will remain rain free. Thus, before March 8, rains will remain on the backseat.

Talking about North India, the region will see a rise in the day temperatures. Thus, days will remain slightly warm over the plains. On the other hand, Central India which has been reeling under excessive heat may see some relief. The states of Gujarat and Maharashtra will witness a slight decrease in maximums in view of the winds blowing from the Arabian Sea over this region.

East India, which has also been witnessing very high maximums. Odisha in particular has been dealing with sky high maximums and no relief is expected in terms of heatwave like conditions. On the other hand, Northeast India’s Upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh may see some weather activity which will reduce by tomorrow.

South India, where maximums have been way too high over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also see no relief in the coming days. Only marginal relief is likely.

However, March 8 onward, there may be some rains and thunderstorms in parts of Central India as well as North India until March 10.
