These weather conditions can be attributed to a low-pressure area which is seen over Odisha and adjoining areas. An upper air cyclonic circulation which is seen extending over the region and is likely to shift southwestwards. This system is then likely to move further in a Westerly direction. Due to these weather systems, Monsoon rain and thundershowers are expected to continue over several districts of Maharashtra including cities such as Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Akola, Sholapur, Sangli, Latur, Chandrapur and Parbhani.
