The fag end of July brought flooding rains with itself that created a chaotic situation for the residents of Gujarat. After submerging the districts such as Banaskantha, and Patan and claiming more than 200 lives, these torrential rains took a break and gave a sigh of relief to the residents of the state.
However, after remaining almost dry from the past 3-4 days, now, rains have once again started showing up in parts of East Gujarat. In fact, Ahmedabad is at present is witnessing cloudy weather followed by light rainy spells. Furthermore, such light rains are likely to continue.

As per Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation which was over Jharkhand and adjoining region has moved west northwestwards and is at present seen over the northern parts of Madhya and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Simultaneously, a cyclonic circulation is also persisting over Southeast Pakistan and adjoining Gujarat region.

The combination of both these weather system has increased clouding over the area, thereby resulting in light rains particularly in the eastern parts of the state that includes Ahmedabad. Other districts that are expected to witness light spells include Gandhinagar, Kheda, Surat, Sundarnagar, Vadodara, and Anand.
Skymet Weather further reiterates that such light spells are expected to continue over East Gujarat for at least another 2-3 days. Though these rains will be short-lived and patchy in nature and the intensity of rains is not anticipated to increase. As heavy spells are not expected, chances of flooding is ruled out.
