However, relief from the warm weather is in forecast as a trough is expected to form from Rajasthan to Coastal Maharashtra across Gujarat by February 7. In the wake of this weather system, we expect light scattered rain to occur in many parts of Gujarat between February 7 and 9.

During that time, due to cloud cover and rain, the day temperatures will fall significantly by at least 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. The maximums will settle below normal or marginally above normal. However, the minimums may rise further.

The parched state of Gujarat is likely to get few spells of rain after a long time. Places such as Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Porbandar, Surat and Dwarka are likely to witness light rain.
