Most parts of the country are baking in extreme summer heat. The scorching weather prevailing in the country has made stepping out in the sun pretty difficult and uncomfortable.
Temperatures across most parts of the country are settling several notches above the normal leading to heatwave like conditions across several regions of Central and West India.
Similar conditions are being observed over Gujarat as well, wherein most districts of the state are witnessing more than a month long dry spell. Ahmedabad, also called the ‘Manchester of India’ has also been observing extremely hot weather conditions.
On Monday, the day temperatures at Ahmedabad was recorded at a whopping 42.8°C against the monthly average of 35.8°C, which is five degrees above the normal. Moreover, in the last 24 hours, the maximums reached almost closer to the highest of 43°C recorded in 2011 in the month of March. Thus, it was the highest in the last six years.
As per Skymet Weather, the reason for this extremely hot weather conditions across the state can be associated with the absence of any significant weather system. Moreover, the air mass blowing over the region is also coming from the hot regions of the neighboring country, Pakistan. Due to both of these, the weather across the state including Ahmedabad has been extremely hot.
Further, Skymet Weather does not foresee any changes in the prevailing temperatures for next two to three days. Moreover, these are likely to rise after March 31. Hence, people in Gujarat cannot brace for any respite from the ongoing scorching heat as of now.
