After witnessing below normal temperatures in first half of the month, Ahmedabad is now witnessing hot weather conditions with both maximum and minimum temperatures settling well above normal.
Sunday turned out to be extremely hot for the city, as the day temperature had shot up to 40°C. Normal average day temperature for the city in March is 35.7°C, while average night temperature is 19.1°C.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, temperatures will continue to soar for the next three to four days as well. However, we can expect some relief thereafter because of change in wind pattern due to a cyclonic circulation that would be moving across Rajasthan and Gujarat.

March Madness in Ahmedabad
This year, Ahmedabad has been witnessing slightly different weather conditions. Back to back induced cyclonic circulations in the initial days of the month have given good rain over Ahmedabad, which had resulted in a drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures.
The city, so far, has recorded 26.4 mm of rain, surpassing the monthly average of 0.5 mm. It has also broken the all-time high record, which was 21.1 mm of rain in March, 1967.
Usually during the month of March, Ahmedabad observes hot weather conditions with maximum temperatures settling in high 30’s, sometimes even reaching up to 40°C also.
