The ongoing spell of rain in Ahmedabad was due to multiple weather systems forming in the Bay of Bengal and traveling further up to Central India.

As of now, the low pressure area over Madhya Pradesh has become less marked and merged with the axis of the Monsoon trough. Monsoon rains will reduce over entire Central India now.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Phalodi, Ajmer, Shivpuri, Satna, Daltongang, Midnapore and further to northeast Bay of Bengal. The trough is lying to the north of its normal position and will shift the rainfall belt to the plains of North India.
