Ahmedabad has been witnessing hot and sultry weather conditions for quite some time now. So much so that the city has been recording maximums above 40 degrees for over a month now. In fact, rain gods have also turned their backs on Ahmedabad.

The last time the city received some rains were on May 29, and that too a mere 1 mm. In fact, apart from these showers, Ahmedabad has not received a single drop of rain since the first week of March. The city had recorded 4 mm rain in the first week of March, since then the city remains parched until now.

Temperatures had soared even higher during the month of May. So much so that on May 19, Ahmedabad observed a record breaking maximum at 48 degree Celsius. Temperatures refused to drop down.

However, currently, a cyclonic circulation which developed in the Bay of Bengal has been giving good rains over the entire West Coast including several parts of Maharashtra as well. Due to this system, sky remained cloudy over Ahmedabad on June 19.

In fact, the maximum temperature has dropped to 34.4 degrees, which is four degrees below the normal levels. Now, the residents of Ahmedabad can expect light rain during the next 24 hours. Sky conditions are expected to remain cloudy as well. While Monsoon is making progress over other parts of the country, Ahmedabad will have to wait a little longer for Monsoon rains.
