Even though Monsoon arrival was delayed by a week in Gujarat, however, it did not fail to give good rainfall over the Saurashtra and Kutch region since then.
While coastal parts have been receiving on and off good showers, Ahmedabad was left to satisfy itself with light rain only. However, due to the cyclonic circulation the city has been blessed with good Monsoon rain since today morning.
The cyclonic circulation had been present over Kutch region in Gujarat since last 2 days. It had been giving heavy rain over Surat and Bhavanagar. Ahmedabad and Rajkot had been receving scattered rainfall till now. The weather system has not become active over more parts of Gujarat and due to this Ahmedabad has managed to receive 45 mm rain since 8.30 a.m. on July 4 to 5.30 p.m. today.
Southwest Monsoon has still not covered entire Gujarat but the areas that have been covered will continue to receive light to moderate rains.
Ahmedabad is likely to receive few more showers till tonight that may spill over to tomorrow morning as well.
