These rains will also be accompanied with strong winds. All thanks to the well-marked low pressure area over Central Madhya Pradesh. In fact, cloud configuration indicates that system is getting more marked and travelling on southwesterly direction. It may intensify into a depression by the time it reaches to Gujarat.

Besides this, a cyclonic circulation is also marked over Southwest Rajasthan, which is also moving southwards.
With both the systems here to stay, we expect rains to increase further. From July 14, Gujarat may expect heavy to extremely heavy over the many parts. Places such as Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Baroda and Surat are likely to record some extremely heavy rains on July 14-15.
This spell of heavy rains is likely to continue till July 16. Thereafter, intensity of rains will reduce but good showers will still continue over several areas.
