Bengaluru weather had remained dry for a long time with the only change in weather being in the form of fluctuating temperatures. The last time that the city had recorded rains was in the beginning of the month of December.

However, Bengaluru rains finally made an appearance yesterday after the city had observed a dry spell for about two months. In fact, during the late afternoon and evening hours light rainfall activity was observed over the Garden City of India.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Bengaluru city observatory recorded 0.4 mm of rainfall while the Hindustan Airport observatory witnessed 2 mm of rainfall.

As far as the temperatures are concerned, there was not much dent in the maximums. In fact, the day temperature dropped by about two degrees as compared to the day before and settled at 30 degrees Celsius.

Now, the weather systems that resulted in rains are still hanging around. The after effects of the system will leave a lot of moisture. Furthermore, a slight rise in maximum temperatures is also expected. Thus, due to available humidity and heat during afternoon hours, cloud build up is expected over Bengaluru.

Thus, light showers are likely to occur over some parts of Bengaluru during the next 48 hours, i.e., today and tomorrow. As far as weather conditions are concerned, they will remain pleasant throughout the day.
