As predicted by Skymet Weather, parts of Rajasthan experienced some light pre-Monsoon activities in the form of light rains, thundershowers and dust storms in a few pockets on the last day.
However, the intensity of these thundershowers was more over the eastern half of the state in contrast with the western parts of Rajasthan.
In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Monday, Sawai Madhopur recorded 11 mm of rains, Bundi 2 mm, Sikar 1 mm, Chittorgarh 0.5 mm, and Jaipur recorded 0.2 mm of rains.
As per Skymet Weather, these rains were due to the trough extending from Punjab to East India across South Haryana and South Uttar Pradesh.

In addition to this, the warm and moist southeasterly winds blowing over the region also aided in these rains. However, now, the wind reversal has taken place and the moist winds have been replaced by dry northwesterly winds.
We expect, these dry winds to continue for another 5-6 days over the region, however, these winds would blow up to higher levels, around 20,000-25,000 feet.
Due to the commencement of hot and dry northwesterly winds, now, chances of thunderstorms and dust storm seems to reduce, thus paving way for dry and hot weather conditions to prevail. In the wake of this, the temperatures are also likely to shoot up, leading to heatwave like conditions to prevail over the region, mainly gripping the northern and western parts of the state.
Thus, the entire atmosphere of the desert state would become dry and hot, lessening the possibilities of the dust storm or thundershowers.
Moreover, as the Monsoon flow has also weakened, now any further advancement of Southwest Monsoon is not anticipated, thereby delaying the onset of Monsoon over Rajasthan by a couple of days.
