March 6, 2014 1:10 PM |

The period of rain in Delhi is likely to be over and sky will remain mainly clear during the next two days. According to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir is moving eastwards and cyclonic circulation associated with it over west Uttar Pradesh has also lost energy, so weather in Delhi will be clear.

Both of these weather systems worked in tandem last evening to bring a spell of rain in Delhi. The Safdarjung Observatory in the national capital recorded 4 mm of rain while the Palam Observatory registered 9.6 mm of rain between 8:30 am on Wednesday and 8:30 am Thursday. The average rainfall for the month of March in Delhi is 13.5 mm spread through the month in about three and a half days.

Latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India also suggests that temperatures in Delhi would sustain as northerly winds amid clear skies will keep the day temperatures in mid-twenties or a little over while night temperatures will just be around 12 degrees in coming two days. Delhi recorded a maximum of 26.9°C at the Safdarjung Observatory while Palam observed the maximum at 27°C on Wednesday. Day temperatures in Delhi are in a pleasant range because they are yet to scale above the normal of 29.2°C for the month of March until.
