Winter has intensified across North India in last two-three days, with significant drop in both the day and night temperatures.

However, East and Central parts of the country had been escaping this winter chill so far. Thanks to the anti-cyclonic circulation over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining North Chhattisgarh. This system had been restricting the flow of chilly northwesterly winds from snow clad Himalayas to the region.

But now, this system has shifted westwards and is now marked over West Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Thus, the chilly winds from north has now started blowing across the eastern and central parts of the country.

As a result, both the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to drop significantly across East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North Odisha, North Chhattisgarh and parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Slowly and steadily, winters would now tighten its grip over all these areas very soon. According to Skymet Weather, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand would be most affected, as minimum temperatures would settle between 9°C and 11°C. Meanwhile, day temperature would in range from 21°C to 25°C.
