After battling all day-long intense heat, Delhiites finally got relief on Tuesday night. Weather turned extremely pleasant during late evening, finally making way for rains by late night. By 11 pm, several parts of the Delhi-NCR had started recording pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers.

Now also, weather conditions are favourable for some more rains over the national capital. At present, rain bearing clouds have been engulfing the city since early morning and rains may follow anytime soon.

According to Skymet Weather, these much needed change in weather conditions can be attributed to the fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir that has induced a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and adjoining areas. Moreover, a trough has been extending from this system across Delhi-NCR.

This weather has arrested rise in mercury and at present, temperature is hovering around 31°C.  Maximum temperatures had dropped on Tuesday itself, with the city recording day maximum around normal at 41.4°C. We expect marginal drop in temperatures on Wednesday also.

Severe heatwave conditions that have been prevailing over Delhi-NCR for the last couple of days have finally abated. The mercury had surpassed 45-degree mark, exposing people to dangerous heat.
