Delhirains had remained in hiding for quite some time. Due to the absence of those Delhi rains, weather had become warm and humid enough. So much so that temperatures continued to be on the rise with maximums settling above the 36-degree mark as well.
However, rain gods decided to make an appearance over the national capital. Since Saturday morning, good rains have been lashing Delhi and the NCR region. While the Safdarjung observatory recorded moderate showers of 23 mm a day before, Palam had to settle for traces of rainfall.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, it was just the opposite as it was the Palam observatory which recorded a good 23 mm of rainfall, while the Safdarjung observatory recorded a mere 3 mm of rainfall.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the southward movement of the axis of Monsoon trough from the foothills of the Himalayas to the South of Delhi. Due to these rains, temperatures also witnessed a drop. So much so that the maximum at Palam settled at 29.8 degrees and 29.6 degrees at the Safdarjung observatory.
Now, during the next 24 hours or so, on and off patchy rains are expected to occur over isolated pockets of Delhi and the NCR region. However, good showers will remain on the backseat. In fact, temperatures are also expected to increase over the region with humidity levels also being on the high.
