Good rains had become a regular feature in the weather of Kolkata for the past few days. Despite the end of the four months long Southwest Monsoon season, good showers continued to make several appearances over the City of Joy, Kolkata.
However, the City of Joy has once again begun to witness the not so joyous dry and warm weather conditions. There has been a change in the weather patterns and Kolkata has recorded in the last 24 hours as well.

The reason as to which Kolkata had been witnessing good rains previously was due to a deep depression which was stationed over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. However, the system has now weakened into a cyclonic circulation. Not only this, the system has moved northwestwards towards Jharkhand region.

Due to the shift in the weather system, rainfall activity will further take a backseat over West Bengal including Kolkata region. Weather conditions will be comfortable with the maximum temperature ranging in the early 30s while minimums are expected to remain in the mid-20s. However, weather conditions will remain humid which will cause some discomfort over the region.
