Madhya Pradesh rains

The western and southern districts of Madhya Pradesh have been experiencing heavy Monsoon rains for the last many days now. In fact, the heavy downpour has resulted in widespread flooding in many districts of the state.

The Monsoon showers have remained unstoppable over the city of Hoshangabad in the past 24 hours and thus have led to flash floods in many parts here. Likewise, Bhopal, Raisen, Pachmarhi, Betul, and Seoni have been recording moderate to heavy rains since the last two to three days.

Meanwhile, rains have occurred with moderate in intensity over Khajuraho, Mandla, Sagar, and Shajapur. While, scattered light to moderate showers were recorded in Ujjain, Ratlam, and Indore during the last 24 hours.

According to Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is likely to move northwards. Moreover, a Low-Pressure Area has been developed over North Central Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh. In the wake of these systems, rain belt will now move towards the northern districts of the state, wherein places like Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Tikamgarh, Sagar, and Damoh will get to see moderate to heavy rains. These activities are likely for the next two to three days. And chances of flash floods and waterlogging in many parts cannot be ruled out.

With the shifting of the rain belt over North of Madhya Pradesh, the intensity will reduce over the southern districts of the state. Many areas will observe relief from water-logging and the flood-like situation.

These rains would surely improve the rain surplus of West Madhya Pradesh and the deficiency of East Madhya Pradesh would also come down, considering the possibility of good rains here.
