After being hit by the Extremely Severe Cyclone Fani and facing a huge loss to life and property, the coastal state of Odisha is now going to experience some relief in terms of weather.
Encapsulating the losses
Fani has caused widespread destruction mainly over central and northern parts of Odisha due to rain accompanied with gusty winds. Extremely heavy rains lashed coastal stations like Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Kendrapara. While Cuttack received 128 mm of rains, Keonjhargarh 102.5 mm, Bhubaneswar 161.2 mm, Balasore 62.2 mm and Angole recorded 53.2 mm of rain in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.
At least 9 people have been reported dead in the state due to Cyclone Fani. However, any big loss has been ruled out, thanks to prior forecast and timely action taken by the authorities.

Current storm status
Currently, the intensity of the storm has reduced significantly as it has moved away in an eastward direction. Presently, the Cyclonic Storm is lying over Northwest Bangladesh as a Deep Depression.
Weather forecast for Odisha
Today, South Odisha will witness mainly dry weather condition. A significant rise in the day temperatures will be witnessed. However, in North Odisha the weather will remain partly cloudy, with chances of light rains over few places.
Over the next 24 hours, normal pattern of winds are likely to blow which will gradually lead to rise in temperatures and humid weather along the coastal stations.
In the coming week as well, the weather pattern is likely to sustain. Day temperatures might be recorded to the tune of 40°C. Weather will remain mainly humid during this time. Some isolated rain activity cannot be ruled out in the coastal stations.
Restoration and revival operations made easy
This weather is promising in terms of restoration and revival activities over the affected areas and only going to make the process smooth before the state is back to back.
