After cool weekend, hotter days await Delhi

Summers in DelhiAfter witnessing a cool weekend, Delhi is now inching closer towards hotter days. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, in the absence of any weather activity both maximum and minimum temperatures are now expected to rise gradually for next 48 hours.

At present, the national capital is experiencing partly cloudy sky but there is no rain in the offing, indicating that Delhiites have to gear up for dry and sunny weather.

Light to moderate rain on Saturday had pulled the temperatures below normal. On Sunday, Delhi saw the day temperature settle at 28.7°C, which is seven degrees below normal. While, night temperature saw a marginal drop of two degrees and settled at 18°C.

As per Skymet, this has been the lowest maximum temperature for the city in April during the last five years. The normal average maximum temperature for Delhi in the month is 36°C while minimum temperature is around 20°C.

Like March, April is also showing different shades of weather in Delhi. Looking at the temperature profile, April has been comfortable so far. Frequent spells of rain are being observed due to successive Western Disturbances (A phenomenon usually experienced during winters).

Delhi has already recorded 53.3 mm of rain till now, surpassing its monthly average rainfall of 8.8 mm.
