After a good spell of rain in Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh, weather activities to now subside

At present, the Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. It’s induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Punjab and Haryana. A Trough is extending from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh across Haryana.

Under the influence of these systems, multiple areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi received rains and thundershowers during the last few days. While the day before yesterday only Punjab and Haryana received rains. Yesterday, rains were observed over Delhi and western parts of Uttar Pradesh as well. Patchy rainfall was witnessed over a few regions of Delhi NCR. These rain activities were witnessed mainly during the late afternoon and evening hours yesterday.

Now, the Trough has shifted further East towards West and Central Uttar Pradesh leading to a decrease in rain activities. Weather activities will subside today as the Cyclonic Circulation and the Trough will move further eastwards.

Skymet forecasts only isolated rains in Delhi NCR and southern districts of Haryana today. However, moderate rains might appear over northern districts of Punjab, Haryana, and Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Weather over all these areas will start clearing up by noon.
