During the last 24 hours, warm and humid weather prevailed over Odisha along with scattered light to moderate rains in patches. While Paradip received 22 mm of rains, Bhubaneswar 21 mm and Ongole recorded 10 mm rains. On the other hand, rest parts of East India remained mainly dry. Day temperatures have increased marginally over most parts and a drop-in night temperatures is being observed. Mist and haze have become a recent phenomenon in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Southeast Bangladesh and adjoining areas. A Trough is likely to form along the East Coast from Odisha to Interior Tamil Nadu.

Thus, there are chances of rain and thundershower activities to continue over Odisha for the next 48 hours and will decrease thereafter. After a short gap, rainfall would pick-up once again.

On the other hand, dry weather would continue over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal for the next two to four days.

As northerly northeasterly winds will soon start blowing over the eastern states, air dryness will now increase. There are bright chances of withdrawal of Monsoon from West Bengal and adjoining parts of Odisha during the next 24 to 48 hours.
