Bengaluru Rains

October has begun on a rainy note for Karnataka. As of today, Karnataka has received 42% more rains than the monthly average figure. Region wise, South Interior Karnataka is 51% rain surplus, North Interior Karnataka is rain surplus by 57% while on the other hand Coastal Karnataka is 28% rain deficient. Otherwise, looking back at the pattern, coastal Karnataka is normally the rainiest pocket at this time of the year.

Breaking it down, most districts of South and North Interior Karnataka are either rain excess or largely rain excess. Moreover, districts such as Haveri and Koppal are rain surplus by a whopping 307% and 164% respectively.  The state capital Bengaluru which otherwise didn’t see a very good Monsoon, is seeing very good rains this month. Moreover, the city has seen flash floods in the past some days.

Talking about the weather forecast for the state, the same trend is likely to continue for the next one week. While the interior parts will see mostly moderate rains, coastal areas might only get to receive light rains.

Rains are not ready to bid farewell to Bengaluru anytime soon, with the city continuing to receive spells of rains daily mainly in the evening hours. Otherwise a cloudy sky will persist at other times.

The southern state Karnataka has received 23% excess rains this Monsoon season. All three sub-divisions including Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka have turned out 23% rain surplus.

Monsoon hasn’t yet withdrawn from the state and rains are still continuing over the state. Although the season is onto its withdrawal and rains are in their retreating state.
