Mumbai rains had displayed a stupendous performance during the beginning of July and the city crossed the 1000 mm mark. However, as the second half of the month began, rains took a standstill and only light showers were seen throughout the month.

The month of August had begun on a similar note and light showers were only seen over the commercial capital of Mumbai. In fact, the City of Dreams could not even see two-digit rains making an appearance for the past few days.

The last 24 hours had heavy to very heavy rains making an appearance over parts of Vidarbha as well as Marathwada. However, Mumbai rains remained on the moderate front and Santa Cruz observatory recorded a mere 11 mm of rains. On the other hand, Colaba saw even lesser rains to the tune of 7 mm.

Now, a depression had formed over central parts of the country which has weakened into a well marked pressure area and may weaken further into a low pressure area by tomorrow, moving towards Gujarat region and adjoining Southeast Rajasthan.

Now, as per Skymet Weather, light to moderate rainfall activity is expected over the city of Mumbai tomorrow in view of the system above and the trough which is extending along the West Coast. Some parts may see heavy rainfall activity as well during the same time period.
