Chhattisgarh is one of the states that receives continuous rain activities during most part of the Monsoon season.

Whenever any weather system in the form of cyclonic circulations, low-pressure areas or Depression forms in the Bay of Bengal and travel in a westerly or northwesterly direction, Chhattisgarh is sure to get good rains.

As per Skymet Weather, these weather systems pass through the state, traveling westwards towards Madhya Pradesh and then finally towards Vidarbha. This time also, the Depression formed over Odisha and moved over North Chhattisgarh as a well-marked low-pressure area.

This weather system has given plenty of rains over the state on the last day as well. In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Raipur recorded 28 mm of rains, Mana 22 mm, Jagdalpur 22 mm, Rajnandgaon 18 mm, Durg 12 mm, Bilaspur 11 mm, Pendra 3 mm, and Ambikapur recorded 1 mm of rains.

Now, this weather system has weakened into a low-pressure area and has moved eastwards, but it will continue to give scattered light to moderate rains over the state for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, a cyclonic circulation is expected over Jharkhand and adjoining area which will also be responsible for scattered rains over the state.

Hence, for the next 2-3 days, we expect rains to continue over Chhattisgarh, which would improve the rainfall status of the state which at present stands at minus 8%, otherwise normal.
