Heavy Monsoon rains have once again made a comeback over Madhya Pradesh, all thanks to the active Monsoon conditions prevailing over the region. The state has been recording continuous widespread rains and thundershowers from the last two to three days.
Moderate to heavy spells occurred at many places during the last 24 hours and light at a few places were witnessed southern half of the state.

In last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Betul witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 53 mm, Indore 45 mm, Pachmarhi 44 mm, Seoni 43 mm, Ujjain 42 mm, Bhopal 30 mm and Ratlam 30 mm. In the same span of time, Khandwa recorded rains of moderate intensity to the tune of 17 mm and Dhar recorded 2 mm of light Monsoon rain.
As per Skymet Weather, we expect good rains to continue over southern and central districts for another two to three days. Few moderate to heavy spells are expected over Betul, Hoshangabad, Seoni, Indore, Khandwa, Bhopal and Dhar.
At present, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh and a trough is also expected to extend up to Interior Karnataka. The humid winds from the Bay of Bengal will continue to feed moisture over the state leading to good rains.

However, Madhya Pradesh is still rain deficient. As on September 12, East Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 29 percent and West Madhya Pradesh by 24 percent. But the rain deficiency is likely to reduce with the ongoing hefty showers.
