Active Monsoonconditions triggered moderate to heavy rains overKeralaas well as Coastal Karnataka. In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday,Shiralirecorded 156 mm of rain, followed by Karwar 131 mm,Mangaluru86 mm and Honavar 51 mm.
Meanwhile, talking about the interior parts ofKarnataka, weather activities in this area remained subdued during the last 24 hours.
Not only this,Monsoon 2019 covered entire Coastal Karnatakaand entered into parts of Interior Karnataka on Thursday. However,Bengaluruwould still have to wait for some more days for the arrival of Monsoon.
As per weathermen, this increased intensity of rains has been associated with Monsoon’s further advancement into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Coastal Karnataka, some parts of South Konkan & Goa, South MadhyaMaharashtraand few parts of Interior Karnataka.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is now passing throughRatnagiri, Kolhapur, Shivamogga, Salem,Cuddalore,Kolkataand Gangtok and Lat. 28°N/Long. 88°E.
Further, we expect, rainfall activities to continue and many parts of CoastalKarnataka ad Keralawill witness heavy to very heavy rains.
The main reason for these intense rains will be theenhanced Monsoon surge over the West Coastas well as influence of a Low-Pressure Area which is likely to start affectingAndhra Pradesh and Telanganasoon.
