Active Monsoon to drench Hyderabad

Southwest Monsoon has already covered the entire state of Telangana including the capital city of Hyderabad, giving moderate to heavy rains with very heavy showers at few occasions. Though the onset was delayed marginally by two days and arrived on June 12. The normal date of the onset of Monsoon over Telangana is June 10.

However, during the last 24 hours, the city remained dry with no rain activity. As per Skymet Weather, the Biryani City is likely to witness good Monsoon rain and thundershowers with few moderate spells during the next 24 hours.

All thanks to the active Monsoon surge over Telangana, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Beside this, a cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha Coast. Thus, with the presence of this system, humid southerly-southwesterly winds are reaching the region, adding up to the level of moisture in the atmosphere.

Right now, the maximum temperatures of the city is settling around 34°C, while the minimum stands at 24°C.

Usually Hyderabad witnesses good rains in the month of July and August however the City of Nizams has already recorded 180.3 mm of rains till date, as against the monthly mean of 111.2 mm and thus any more spells will be an added benefit.
