Rain in madhya pradesh

The rainy affair continues over Madhya Pradesh, all thanks to the active Monsoon conditions over the state. Rains of varying intensity lashed many parts of the city during the last 24 hours.

In the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Malanjkhand recorded 70 mm of rain, Chhindwara 40 mm, Mandla 35 mm, Indore 28 mm, Durg 22 mm, Khandwa 17 mm, Mana 16 mm, Satna 3 mm, Ujjain 1.6 mm.

These rains can be attributed to the several weather systems prevailing around the state. A cyclonic circulation is seen over Southeast Rajasthan, while another cyclonic circulation is seen over Odisha. An off-shore trough is also seen running along the West Coast from South Gujarat to Kerala.

In wake of these systems, humid winds have been blowing over the state for last many days, making conditions conducive for rain and thundershowers to continue.

Further, these systems are likely to sustain the strength for few more time. This means that rains of varying intensity will continue over the state during the next 24-48 hours.  Few areas may record some heavy showers as well.
