As reiterated by Skymet Weather, these rains were due to a cyclonic circulation that has been persisting over South Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, a trough is also extending from this system up to South Konkan & Goa.

In the wake of this, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is expected to receive moderate to heavy spells at a few places, while light to moderate intensity rains over Rayalaseema for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the intensity of these rains is likely to reduce as the cyclonic circulation and the trough associated with it will weaken.

Moreover, as on June 14, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is 38% rain surplus while Rayalaseema is 18% rain surplus. And these ongoing rains will contribute in increasing the surplus of rains even more in Coastal Andhra Pradesh
