With onset of Southwest Monsoon over the states of Odisha and Chhattisgarh, moderate to heavy showers was observed at many occasions.
During the last 24 hours, the coastal areas of Odisha have received good rainfall with few heavy spells. During the same time frame, moderate rain was also observed over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining parts of Odisha.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Bhubaneswar 69 mm, Durg 41 mm, Puri 30 mm, Gopalpur 29 mm, Jagdalpur 21 mm, Cuttack and Bhabanipatna 18 mm, Ambikapur 17 mm, Bilaspur 11 mm, Sambalpur 9 mm and Titlagarh 6 mm.
These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over North Odisha Coast and adjoining areas which is likely to move toward South Odisha Coast.
Therefore, rain and thundershowers of moderate intensity will continue over many parts along the coast, while the interior parts will receive light rain for the next 48 hours.

During the same time frame, the northern parts of Chhattisgarh will receive good rain the southern parts will see light rain.
For the month of June, both the states of Odisha and Chhattisgarh is normal by minus 1 percent.
Weathermen say that temperatures will continue to settle marginally below the normal level over Odisha as well as Chhattisgarh.
