The month of February and March are the dry and warm months for most parts of the country. While winters start bidding adieu to a major portion of the country, slowly and steadily summers start creeping in.
At present, most parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka and Telangana are reeling under hot weather conditions. The temperatures across these regions are shooting up and are touching new heights.

In fact, there are series of places that have even recorded above 37-degree mercury, thereby making the days hot and uncomfortable. The table below shows a list of some of the stations that have recorded maximum temperatures beyond 37°C.
From the above table, it can be extracted that the coastal stations that generally experiences a warm and humid weather condition, are too witnessing the mercury settling beyond the 38-degree mark.
No rain show over these regions for the last many days can be considered as the main reason for continuous warm weather and rising temperatures.
Rise in temperature and pre-Monsoon activity in terms of rain and thundercloud development are at its peak during the second half of March, picking up the pace by April. However, as the temperatures are more over the mainland in contrast with the coastal stations, these thunderclouds initiate affecting the mainland first, followed by the coastal stations.
Until the beginning of pre-Monsoon activities, extreme temperatures are on the cards that indicate summers are approaching.
