A wet weekend ahead for Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand

The northern hills of the country have been witnessing good rains from last many days. In fact, the hilly states of North India have been fortunate enough to keep witnessing good rains almost throughout the month of August.  Though as compared with rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the rain intensity over parts of Jammu and Kashmir has remained on a lower side.

However, in the last 24 hours, the rain intensity has taken a U-turn and light to moderate rains of have lashed the hilly states of North India. Jammu & Kashmir has also recorded some good rains along with the other two states.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Dehradun recorded 25 mm of rains, Dharamsala 23 mm, Jammu 22 mm, Mandi 17 mm, Tehri 8.8 mm, and Mussorie recorded light rains of 5 mm

As per Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching North Pakistan and will gradually move towards Jammu & Kashmir. In the wake of this, light to moderate rains is expected to occur at many places over Jammu & Kashmir.

On the other hand, some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will also get to see some good rain and thundershowers that are expected to continue until the weekend.

However, by Monday the intensity of rains will reduce significantly over Jammu & Kashmir but Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will continue with scattered showers.
