During the last 24 hours as well many parts of Gujarat witnessed light to moderate rain activities. After much delay, Monsoon finally made an entry in Surat, Gujarat on June 25, 2019. Despite this, vigorous or active Monsoon rainfall activities seem to be a miss as the weather systems are feeble in nature. In the past 24 hours, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Deesa, Vadodara, Mahua, Porbandar recorded 26 mm, 25 mm, 8 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm, 0.6 mm of rains, respectively.
Presently, a Trough is extending from South Gujarat to Karnataka coast. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over the Northeast Arabian Sea. These systems are not strong enough which could help in giving rains. Only light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells seems a possibility especially over the southern districts of Gujarat. Places like Surat, Valsad, and Bhavnagar will get to see these rainfall activities.
While, light rain with one or two moderate spells are possible over Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Banaskantha. Whereas, Bhuj and Naliya will get to witness isolated spells of light to very light rains.
Thus, we can say that with the onset of Monsoon, rains are not going to pick up the pace. However, light to moderate rains will continue for the next 48 hours in the southern districts of Gujarat.
June 29 onward, fairly widespread light rains with generally cloudy sky over pan Gujarat will be a sight. During this time, there seems a possibility that Monsoon might cover some more parts of Gujarat. Due to the continuous flow of southwesterlies from the Arabian Sea, the humidity will go up, while temperatures might subside. Thus, leading to comfortable weather conditions for the residents of Gujarat.
