A rainy evening for Hyderabad today, to continue until tomorrow

May 9, 2017 1:15 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The month of May has not been privileged enough to bring in rains for parched Hyderabad. However, a few rainy spells were recorded during the concluding days of April but since then, the weather has mainly remained dry and its been over a month now. On account of this, the maximum temperatures also mounted and rested well beyond the 40-degree mark.

Though, now it seems that the capital city of Telangana will be fortunate enough to witness some rains as rain gods are all set to pour some spells over the ‘city of nawabs’.

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation can be marked over the northern parts of Telangana. Moreover, a trough is also seen extending from the North Vidarbha region in Maharashtra to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema.

In the wake of these weather systems, the weather across the state capital and other regions of Telangana is expected to remain hot and humid towards the afternoon hours today. However, morning will be comfortable. Furthermore, a mainly clear sky will prevail in Hyderabad in morning which is likely to become partly cloudy to cloudy towards late afternoon and evening.

Therefore, chances of rain and thundershowers along with moderate gusty winds are anticipated in Hyderabad today. These isolated thunderstorm activities are expected to continue for the next two days.

Temperature is also predicted to remain near normal and a marginal relief is possible during the late afternoon and evening hours. Even if the rains spare Hyderabad, then also, the rainfall in the nearby regions will lead to cooling down the temperatures in Hyderabad.

As these are pre-Monsoon rains, therefore, the spread and duration of the rains will be limited and will cover a smaller area lasting for an hour or so.
