The cyclonic circulation that has been brewing in the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions persists. The cloud configuration and the atmospheric conditions are signifying a further intensification of this weather system.

According to the weatherman at Skymet Weather, this cyclonic circulation is likely to gain strength and may intensify into a low-pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. Thereafter, this system may further concentrate into a depression while moving in a west-northwest direction towards Coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh by October 19, as suggested by the weather models.

Due to this, by October 18, the coastal stations of both Odisha and Andhra Pradesh may brace for some moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers. Moreover, these rains will be accompanied by strong gusty winds and moderate lightning strikes. Furthermore, between October 17 and 18, clouding in these two regions will increase along with a rise in the temperatures.

Additionally, after October 19, this system is anticipated to enter inland resulting in an increased rainfall activity over the interior regions of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The Andaman Sea is also expected to witness heavy rain and thundershower activities during the next 48 hours.

Amid this time, the sea conditions will be unpleasant to harsh off and along the coastal ranges. In any case, we need to hold up and watch whether the system will heighten into a cyclone not. Meteorologists are of the view that as there a long sea travel left, the system will keep on moving in good climate conditions.
