A fortnight of excess rain in Delhi

April 10, 2015 12:48 PM |

Rain in DelhiSummer is here, but, Delhiites are still enjoying relatively cool weather, brought about by frequent spells of rain. April brings thunderstorms and dust storms, accompanied by light isolated rain. However, in last fortnight the national capital has witnessed prolonged and widespread rain. Thus, we can say that wintery activity still persists in the national capital.

Pre-monsoon showers are generally short-lived and do not cover the entire national capital in one spell. Usually localised activity takes place.

The table below shows rainfall figures in different sub-divisions of Delhi from March 26 to April 1:

Most places across Delhi received excess rainfall, except for North West Delhi and West Delhi.  Nevertheless, these two sub-divisions of Delhi received good showers in the first week of April and made up for the rain deficiency.

The table below shows rainfall figures in different parts of Delhi from April 2 to 8.
