Pune has received light rain of 5 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday. However, moderate showers with one or two intense spells were observed over the outskirts of the city.

According to Skymet Weather, as the weather system over Madhya Maharashtra has moved further, no significant rainfall activity is likely over the city for next three to four days. Rains would only be isolated and light and that too in patches for the next few days.

The intensity of rain would once again increase around September 24 or 25, wherein one or two moderate spells may appear over the city. However, during this period as well, heavy rains are ruled out.

In the wake of light on and off rainfall activities, the weather would remain comfortable as maximums would settle around 27 degree and minimums around 21-degree celcius.

July is the rainiest month for Pune with a monthly average of 187.2 mm while rains reduce significantly in the months of August and September. The city has received only 88 mm of rain until now against its monthly average of 120.1 mm for the month of September.

Taking into account the current scenario, chances are less that the city would surpass its monthly average.
