It seems like there is no end to Uttarakhand's miseries. After a massive forest fires fiasco, nature has once again wreaked havoc over the residents of the state.

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on Richter scale has jolted the hilly state of Uttarakhand during the late night hours of Thursday. As reported by ANI, mild tremors were felt in several cities including Nainital, Bhimtal, Chamoli, and Pithorgarh.

The mild intensity quake was reported around 11:30 pm on May 5. As per the reports by the National Centre for Seismology, the depth of the quake is around 15 km. The epicentre of the quake has been reported to be in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.

People in many cities of the state were forced to flee out of their homes during the wee hours of the night. However, tremors were not felt in the neighbouring states due to the mild intensity of the quake.

As of now, no damage of life or property has been reported in the state of Uttarakhand.
