Shimla is the most visited hill station of Himachal Pradesh and most probably the most visited hill station in North India. The first week of 2017 started with a bang when the entire station was covered under the thick white blanket of snow. On January 7 Shimla got the hefty amount of snowfall.
With this, tourists are going head over heels with the beauty of Shimla. The temperatures dropped significantly low to -0.4 degrees Celsius on January 7. All the major roads leading to Shimla were blocked completely. This brought entire hill station to a standstill.
Shimla experienced hefty rain & snowfall of 53 cm.
Other than Shimla, popular hill stations of Himachal Pradesh received heavy snowfall during the same period that includes Manali, Dharamshala. Many stations of Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand did manage to get this hefty dose of snowfall.
