15 hottest cities of the world on Friday were in India

Extreme heat has gripped most parts of the country. Right from North India upto the southern part of the country several places have been recording temperatures beyond 45℃ for the last many days. Heat wave (Loo) has also taken over certain areas of the country.

Hot weather conditions were at its peak yesterday, April 26. According to the weather website El Dorado all 15 cities listed as the world's warmest on Friday were from Central India and areas in its proximity.

Khargone in Madhya Pradesh was the hottest city yesterday with day temperature settling at a sizzling 46.6℃. Akola in Vidarbha was at the second spot with 46.4℃.

Nine cities in the hottest cities list of the website were from Maharashtra alone, while three were from Madhya Pradesh, two from Uttar Pradesh and one from Telangana.

Amravati 45.4℃, Brahmapuri 45.8℃, Chandrapur 45.6℃ and Wardha 45.7℃ were some other cities in Vidarbha to breach the 45 degrees Celsius mark.

According to meteorologists at Skymet, the day temperatures are expected to keep rising and settle between 45℃ to 47℃ at many places in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha in the next 2-3 days. While, maximums in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, interior Odisha and Telangana would either touch 40℃ or settle beyond the mark. Delhi too is likely to face this unbearable heat.
