Many areas in the state of Gujarat have been witnessing heavy to very heavy rains during the past 48 hours. So much so that the region has even been recording three digit rains wreaking havoc and throwing normal life out of gear for the residents.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the well-marked low pressure which was over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan, which has now weakened into a low pressure area and seen over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat.
This weather system continues to move in a west direction and is likely to weaken more. Thus, the rain activity will soon reduce over the entire state.
However, with these continuous heavy rains, flood threat persists over the area. Owing to which, local authorities of the state have issued a red alert. Roads and streets have been inundated, with which traffic has also been ruthlessly affected. Residents are sternly advised to stay home and not to venture out till the situation remains grim.
